JAMMU, May 27: AROHI Sangeet Vidyalaya- a voluntary cultural society in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art Culture and Languages today organized a classical music concert, “NAD VIPASHYANA” for showcasing and creating awareness about our rich cultural heritage among the youth.
Speaker Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta was the chief guest on the occasion while Minister of State for School Education, Technical Education, Culture, Tourism, Horticulture, and Floriculture & Parks, Priya Sethi was the guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Kavinder Gupta appreciated the efforts by AROHI for connecting youth with the classical music and congratulated the artists for showcasing their talent. He said that such programs help to acquaint the youth with treasure trove of culture and heritage and make them a key stakeholder in its preservation and promotion .He said that more such opportunities should be provided to the budding artists to show and nurture their talent.
Minister of State for School Education, Technical Education, Culture, Priya Sethi in her address said that AROHI is doing a commendable work in preserving rich cultural legacy and art forms .She said that such initiatives provide an encouraging platform to the artists to present their talent.
Prof (Dr.) Padmini Tikoo, a well known Sanskrit Scholar and sitar maestro of the State presented a sitar recital. She was accompanied on tabla by Abir Mukherjee, a talented young artist from Kolkata.
