JAMMU, May 26: Giving a push to the development activities in Gandhi Nagar constituency, former DyCM and ex-MLA Gandhi Nagar constituency, Kavinder Gupta kick started the blacktopping work from Rani Talab to Ashram road. The work will be executed by the PWD.
Gupta on the occasion also interacted with people and took stock of their day to day problems being faced by them due to the COVID-19.
The people projected various developmental issues which were mainly related to upgradation of by lanes, water supply, sanitation, etc. Gupta assured them to take up all the works of by lanes for upgradation which are in deplorable condition and have already been approved for the same. He said soon the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic will be overcome and the funds would be with the elected councillors of JMC and thus the developmental works will get a boost, he added.
He said the party workers from BJP and elected councillors should reach to the door steps of the people to aware them about the Centrally sponsored schemes and gather the data of the problems being faced by the inhabitants so that the genuine demands are met in a phased manner.
Gupta was accompanied by BJP district president-Vinay Gupta, councillor, Ward-45, Raj Rani, Sat Pal Choudhary, Naresh Singh, Raj Singh Randhawa, Narinder Koki, Sahil Mahajan, Ritika Dhiman, Vinod Sharma and Vicky Choudhary among other prominent citizens of the area.
He also said the projects for the up-gradation of drainage system for the Gandhi Nagar constituency areas such as Shastri Nagar, Rajiv Nagar, Kalika Colony, Gangyal, Gandhi Nagar, Chhanni Himmat, Bathindi and other localities have either been completed or soon work will be started and they will be completed before rainy season starts. After the up-gradation of the approved drainage systems in the areas people will be relieved of the problem of water logging during the rainy season.
Gupta said, “Our karyakartas are doing tremendous services in different types of activities during the Corona crisis from providing helpline numbers to various categories as per the needs”. He appealed public to follow the guidelines issued by the Government to fight against the pandemic so that it is mitigated at the earliest.
Vinay Gupta and councillor Raj Rani complimented former Dy. CM and MLA Gandhi Nagar for his sincere efforts for overall development of the constituency and reaching out the public during the lock down period and providing them with the ration kits and other utility items.
