JAMMU, May 27: Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta, today inaugurated yet another branch of
“Shri Dewarikanath Ji Goushala”, a large cow ranch, in Tawi islands at Sohanjana.
The Deputy Chief Minister was flanked by Minister for Animal & Sheep Husbandry, Abdul Ghani Kohli, Member Parliament, Jugal Kishore Sharma, former Minister, Chander Prakash Ganga, Ch Vikram Randhawa (MLC), besides senior officers of civil administration and many prominent citizens of the society.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Chief Minister lauded the efforts of Shri Gangadhar Ji Maharaj in protection and preservation of cow wealth in a different manner and with a great enthusiasm, which, he said, is unique and motivational endeavour aimed at propagation of our social and cultural ethos in particular and betterment of the society at large.
“With the opening of another branch of this Goushala, I hope that the abandoned old and ailing cows would get protection here and they will be provided every facility required to them,” he said.
Abdul Ghani Kohli, while speaking on the occasion, said, “Despite of being a Muslim, I regard cow as my mother as it is only cow, which nourishes her calves with great love and care, which only a mother can do.” “Whatever help will be required for treatment and preservation of cows at this Goushala, I will try my best to fulfill that,” he added.
In his address, Jugal Kishore Sharma, MP, said, “I am coming to this place since a long time because abandoned and ailing cows are given shelter and fodder to eat here with great love and devotion.”
Gangadhar Ji Maharaj said, “This new Goushala has been given name as Shri Dewarikanath Govind Goushala, which will provide shelter and everything needed for betterment of our cows.” He also called upon devotees in particular and people in general to come forward and contribute their bit in this noble mission.
Chander Prakash Ganga and Vikram Randhawa also spoke on the occasion.
