JAMMU, May 28: Taking further the development activities in Gandhi Nagar constituency, Assembly Speaker and MLA Gandhi Nagar, kavinder Gupta today inaugurated the work for the construction of lane and drain in ward no 22 of Shastri Nagar.
The Speaker was accompanied by Ex- Corporator, Suresh Jamwal; Vikram Randhawa, Baldev Billoria, Tarsem Chowdhary, Sat Pal Chowdhary, Ludramani Sharma, Sushma Gupta, Er. Ashwani Khosla, Bharat Sharma, Vijender Dutta along with X-En, JMC, Arvind Gupta; AEE, JMC, Gurcharan Singh; CTO, JMC, Deepak Gupta.
The locals expressed their gratitude to the Speaker for taking up this work on priority and also brought some other issues to his notice which are sanctioning of additional transformer to the area, regular & timely supply of water and de-silting of adjoining nallah.
Speaker also took on the spot assessment of the demands of the people and toured the area. He directed the JMC staff to expedite the de-silting work of the nallah and complete it before the onset of Monsoons and further directed the concerned officials to take care of the regular water supply in the area. Gupta assured the locals that the transformer will be upgraded very soon.
Kavinder Gupta later visited Gangyal and held a public darbar there and listened to the grievances of the people. Gupta was astonished to see that the area which comes under municipal limit is so much ignored by the previous MLA and no development was seen on ground, the lanes & drains, electric poles & wires were in very bad condition. Gupta immediately called the concerned department and instructed them to make a plan to develop the area.
