Kathua, Samba police rescue 30 bovine animals

KATHUA, Apr 26: Intensifying its drive against bovine smuggling Kathua and Samba police rescued 30 bovine animals during different nakas in twin districts today.
Continuing its drive to thwart the conspiracies of bovine smugglers and under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua, RC Kotwal, a team of Police Station (PS) Lakhanpur succeeded in foiling bovine smuggling bid and rescued more than one dozen bovines and seized the vehicle.
A police team of PS Lakhanpur under the supervision of Inspector, Sumeet Sharma SHO while on Naka checking duty in its jurisdictional area signaled a vehicle bearing Registration Number, PB11AS-9783 being driven by the unknown person to stop for checking. Sensing danger, the driver stopped the vehicle far behind the naka point and fled away.
On checking, 14 bovines were found loaded in the vehicle. Police team rescued the bovines which were being transferred illegally along with the vehicle was seized on spot.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 59/2021 US 188 IPC, 11PCA Act was registered in concerned Police Station and further investigation into this matter has been initiated. Meanwhile, Marheen Police Post (PP) rescued near about half dozen bovines.
In wee hours, a police team led by IC PP Marheen, Arun Salathia while on patrolling duty in its jurisdictional area noticed the movement of bovines on foot being led by some persons from village Mandyala via Bathal Chack Tamah Nallah. They were directed to stop.
On seeing police party from a distance, the persons taking advantage of the darkness fled away from the spot and left behind near about half dozen of bovines.
Thereafter six bovines were rescued which were being taken without a legal permission.
A case FIR 53/2021 U/S 188/IPC Act has been registered in concerned Police Station and investigation has been started.
Meanwhile Samba police has successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle bovine by rescuing 10 animals in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS), Ghagwal.
Acting on reliable information regarding transportation of bovines, a police party of PS Ghagwal while performing vehicle checking duty at Naka NHW Tapyal, signaled to stop a truck having Registration Number JKO2AP-5281 coming from Kathua side and moving towards Srinagar. However driver managed to escape taking the advantage of darkness and abandoned the vehicle.
During checking of the vehicle, 10 cattle were found laden inside it without any permission. All the cattle were rescued and shifted to safer place. The vehicle used for transporting the bovines was seized on spot.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 93/2021 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation started.
