Kathua police solves theft case of Honda Activa, arrests drug peddlers

KATHUA, June 12: Kathua Police today solved the theft case of Honda Activa scooty which was stolen from Ward No 17 Kathua on May 27 this year.
The owner of the two wheeler, Ramesh Gupta S/o Charn Dass Gupta R/o Ward No 17 lodged a complaint at Police Station Kathua regarding the issue. Accordingly Kathua Police registered a case FIR No. 190/18 U/S 379 RPC at Police Station Kathua and started investigation.
During investigation police arrested scooty thief namely Vijay Kumar, S/o Ashok Kumar R/o Ward No 17 Kathua and recovered scotty on his disclosure.
Meanwhile, acting against drug menace, police team of Police Station Kathua led by Inspector, Amit Sangra seized two grams of heroin in Chak Drab Khan area from a lady identified as Kajal, wife of Bodh Raj of Chak Drab Khan Kathua. The police registered a case FIR No 205/18 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act in this regard besides arresting the lady.
In addition to it the Police Station, Raj Bagh in Kathua district seized five liters of illicit liquor and destroyed the production Distillery Unit. The illicit liquor was seized by a team of Raj Bagh Police led by SHO, Raj Bagh who on a specific information raided Bakral Colony Marheen and seized the illicit liquor from Om Parkash, S/O Karam Chand of village Bakrak, tehsil Marheen felling under the jurisdiction of Rajbagh PS.
The Police also destroyed the makeshift production unit and seized the utensils used fro manufacturing of liquor.
