Kathua police seizes 44 bottles of liquor

KATHUA, June 8: In an another breakthrough in its drive against illicit liquor menace in the district, Kathua police under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua, R C Kotwal , today seized 44 more bottles of illicit liquor at Lakhri, Ramkote and one person was arrested in this connection.
Police team of Police Post (PP) Ramkot led by Inspector, Gurvinder Singh incharge Police Post (PP) Ramkot during patrolling duty near Lakhri, Ramkote apprehended one suspect namely Parvesh Kumar, son of Rattan Chand Sharma of Nagrota. During checking, 24 bottles of Desi whisky of 375ml each and 20 bottles of 250ml each (illicit liquor ) were recovered from his possession illegally.
Meanwhile all the recovered consignment of illicit liquor was seized and person was arrested. In this regard, a case FIR No 86 /2021 U/S 48(a) Excise Act stands registered at Police Station (PS) Billawar and investigation taken up.
