Kashmiri student committed suicide: Pb DGP

SRINAGAR, Sept 14:
A Kashmiri student whose body found hanging on the terrace in a college in Punjab under suspicious circumstances had committed suicide, DG Punjab Police said today.
The student Umar Ahad Dave, a student of RIMT University Gobindgarh, Mandi Ludhiana Road was found hanging on the terrace of the college early on Monday morning.
Several political and other organizations demanded a thorough investigation into the death of Umar.
However, today Director General of Punjab Police confirmed that Umar had committed suicide after a suicide was recovered.
Media Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh Mr Raveen Thukral, tweeted this information today.
Just been informed by @DGPPunjabPolice that Umar Ahad was suffering from depression and he left behind a suicide note.
His brother Shaukat, a J&K police constable, has reached FGS. Postmortem being conducted & his family is satisfied with the investigations.
Thorough probe on. He also posted the alleged suicide note of Umar on his twitter handle. (UNI)
