Kashmir University postpones all exams scheduled tomorrow

SRINAGAR: The Kashmir University has postponed all the examinations scheduled to be held tomorrow, when a strike call has been given by various organisations to protest the death of a truck driver, who was injured when some people attacked his truck with a patrol bomb at Udhampur in Jammu region on October 9.
A KU official said all examinations scheduled for tomorrow have been postponed and fresh date will be announced later. Though no reason was given but it is said that the examinations were postponed following a strike call given by separatist organization, including both the factions of Hurriyat Conference and Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) besides traders to protest against the Udhampur attack.
Truck driver, Zahid Rasool Bhat and two others, including a policeman, were injured when some people attacked their truck with a petrol bomb at Udhampur on October 9 where protests were held during the day, demanding ban on beef. Bhat today succumbed to injuries in Safdurjung hospital in New Delhi. (AGENCIES)
