JAMMU, Oct 24: With a view to promote Jammu and Kashmir’s Information Technology sector, a Kashmir based company–Comtech Info Solution Private Limited has become first from the State to participate in 35th GITEX Technologies Summit at Dubai.
GITEX–Gulf Information Technology Exhibition is an annual consumer computer and electronics trade show, exhibition and conference that take place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Its exhibitions in the Middle East include over 138,000 participants at one event.
Managing Director, Comtech Info, Sheikh Imtiaz said that this is the lone company participating in the tech event from Jammu and Kashmir. “It is one of the biggest events in IT Sector which attracts attention of IT companies across globe”, he said, adding that their company has got a good response in Dubai.
“During interaction with people in Dubai, I have came to know that there are few people from the J&K State working there, so I am focusing on finding a arrangement for placing trained Kashmiri youths in the Middle East and it could be done by developing contacts with outside companies which I am trying to establish here”, he said.
He added that his second objective will be to get projects from the Middle East which can be executed in Kashmir in order generate jobs in Kashmir for youth who are averse to travelling outside State.
The Comtech Info–Kashmir based company has already expanded its base in different States of India and is now targeting international market to help the state of Jammu and Kashmir in curbing of unemployment.
“The response at Gitex Technologies Summit Dubai is tremendous and we are sure our capabilities to work will help us get contracts in the Middle East as well”, he said, adding that various delegations visited our stall including the delegations of Nigerian, South African and UAE based Companies. To mention, Comtech is JK’s first UIDAI empanelled IT company, which has enrolled over 20 lakh State residents for Aadhaar.
Comtech has successfully completed issuance of Aadhaar cards in 17 districts of J&K. Set up in early 1997 as a computer training centre at Regal Lane here. Comtech pioneered Urdu typing in the Valley in collaboration with NCPUL. Later it started working on various e-governance projects.
Ahmed, an engineering graduate who has also done MBA, is the brain behind the Info Solutions, which has expanded its network across the State.
