Kashmir based drug peddlers arrested with heroin

JAMMU, Oct 17: Police arrested two Kashmir based drug peddlers from Dogra Chowk area, falling under the jurisdiction of Nowabad Police Station.
As per police sources, based on reliable information, a team led by Incharge District Special Branch DySP Sagar Singh and assisted by a team from Nowabad Police Station headed by SHO Inspector Neeraj Bhagat under the supervision of SDPO West Pranav Mahajan and SP City Dr Vinod Kumar raised a checking point at Dogra Chowk and intercepted two persons moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police recovered 50 grams of heroin from their possession and arrested them.
The arrested persons have been identified as Fayaz Ahmed, son of Abdul Rehman and Mushtaq Ahmed Bhat, son of Gul Mohammad Bhat, both residents of district Anantnag, Kashmir. A car bearing registration number JK03D-4587 owned by Fayaz Ahmed has also been seized.
During preliminary inquiry, it came to fore that the accused had brought the consignment from Kashmir and was selling it among the youth in Jammu to make them drug addicts. With their arrests, police achieved a major success to save the youth from becoming drug addicts.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Nowabad Police Station and investigation started.
