BARAMULLA, Feb 22: In order to encourage youth, channelize talent and refine skills through proper sports platform,  Kashir Under-19 Football tournament was organized by 53 Battalion CRPF, here.
The final match was played between Sober Club and Young Iqbal Club, which was won by Sober Club in a close contest by three goals to two (3-2).
Under-19 girls football final was also held earlier in the day between St. Joseph school and Girls Government Higher Secondary Baramulla which was won by Girls GHSS Baramulla.
The final was attended by DC Baramulla, Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash , DIG NKR Vidhi Kumar Birdi, Radhey Shyam CO 176 Bn CRPF, Bhupal Singh CO 177 Bn CRPF, Ram Niwas Sheikh CO 179 Bn, Shafakat SP Ops Baramulla, Aijaj  Hussain Malik, District Information Officer and other senior officers of Police, Army and District Administration.
Speaking on the occasion PS Rajora, DIGP, CRPF and Vinay Kr Tiwari Commandant 53 Bn CRPF emphasised that channelizing the energy of the youth in right direction is the need of the hour.
Prize distribution was held in DPL with winning team and runners-up team bagging cash prize along with medals and certificates while girls team also got the reward.
All the participating players were awarded football kits and certificates. The winning teams of both the groups will be offered opportunity to travel outside for further refinement of skills under National  Bharat Darshan Programme.
