KARGIL, Feb 13: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed grave concern over non-availability of basic amenities in Kargil.
In a statement issued here today, PDP leader, Ghulam Mustafa said that Kargil was linked with Mantra airlines recently, but is of no use as the fare charges of the flight is more than Rs 10,000 which the common people cannot afford. He demanded the Government to provide subsidy of more than 50% to the passengers.
He also pressed for the construction of tunnel at Zojila Pass to facilitate road connectivity of Kargil with rest part of the country. Keeping in view the importance of Kargil Askardo Road, he demanded to open the road.
Quoting that the State Government opened two Central Universities, one at Jammu and another at Kashmir, the PDP leader said same should be opened in Ladakh region for students of Kargil and Ladakh.
