Karblaie elected CEC Kargil

KARGIL, Sept 16: Congress leader Asgar Ali Karblaie was today elected unopposed as new Chief Executive Councilor (CEC) of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Kargil.
His name was proposed by the Councilor from Stakchey Khangral Advocate Mohammad Amir and supported by all the 12 Councilors of Congress and its alliance. Later, the Election Authority/Deputy Commissioner Kargil Fida Hussain declared Asgar Ali Karblaie as the new CEC of the Hill Council.
The Ministers—Ali Mohad Sagar, Sham Lal Sharma and Peerzada Mohd Sayeed, who were deputed as the observers for the election of CEC, could not reach Kargil because of closure of Srinagar-Kargil Road at Zojila due to snowfall.
After being elected as the Chairman/CEC of the Hill Council, Karblaie thanked the people of Kargil for giving mandate to his party. The new CEC assured the people that he would fulfill the aspirations of the people and work for prosperity and development of the district.
Minister of State, Nazir Gurezi, former Minister Haji Nissar Ali and former MLA Ghulam Raza, SP Kargil, Sujit Kumar and Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil Hassan Khan were present on the occasion.
However, the Councilors of National Conference and its alliance did not participate in the meeting.
