DODA, July 5: Kanwal Tigers (KT) Kashmir and Udhampur Cricket Club (UCC) scripted convincing wins against JK Warriors and Evergreen Kahara respectively in the ongoing All India 14th Gufran Memorial T-20 Cricket Championship 2018 at Sports Stadium, here today.
The tournament is being organized by Young Star Cricket Club Doda and sponsored by 10 Rashtriya Rifles Unit Doda and J&K Bank.
In another match, batting first after winning the toss, JK Warriors set a target of 116 runs by losing their 09 wickets in allotted 15 overs. Ashiq Hussain top scored with 26 runs while Wasim Malik contributed 24 runs. From Kanwal Tigers Kashmir, Zubair Bashi scalped 3 wickets while Irfan Nath and Noushair Batt shared 2 wickets each.
In reply, Kanwal Tigers Kashmir chased the target in 13.2 overs for the loss of 6 wickets. Imran Zargar top scored with 39 runs while Adil Rashid contributed 31 runs to the total.
From JK Warriors, Majid Malik scalped 3 wickets while Rehan Mir, Mushtaq and Kamran Malik shared 1 wicket each. Zubair Bashi of Kanwal Tigers Kashmir was declared as the Man of the match for his brilliant bowling performance who was given prize by SHO PS Doda Inspector Manjeet Singh along with Patron YSCC Manzoor Ahmed Batt. In the second match, batting first after winning the toss, Udhampur CC team scored a total of 123 runs by losing all their wickets in stipulated 15 overs. Sunil Sharma top scored with 30 runs followed by Gourav Khajuria who contributed 28 runs for his team. From Evergreen Kahara, Mubarak and Shafqat Parray scalped 2 wickets each while Mansoor Shah and Rameez Raja picked one wicket each.
In reply, Evergreen Kahara team could not chase down the given target and whole team was bundled out fo partly total of 75 runs in 15 overs. Anu Kumar was the highest scorer who scored 16 runs while Tariq Jamal contributed 15 runs for his team. From Udhampur CC, Gourav Khajuria scalped 03 wickets while Balwan Singh picked 2 wickets. Gourav Khajuria of Udhampur Cricket Club was declared as the man of the match for his all-round performance, who was given prize by Dr Tariq Masood, Dr Hamid Parray, Waseem Raja Sheikh and Ayaz Bangroo.
The matches were officiated by Ifroz Rather, Harish Raza, Munish Zutshi and Yousuf Raza as umpires while Sandeep Kaushik acted as the scorer.
