Kalsotra resents re-employing retired engineers in RDD

JAMMU, Aug 25: All India Confederation of SC ST OBC Organisations today opposed the Government move of re-employing retired engineers in Rural Development Department on contractual basis.
RK Kalsotra, State President Confederation, while talking to media persons, here today, said that there are more than 70000 educated unemployed engineers in the UT who are in a state of distress with no employment opportunities.
“In such a condition, the Government move to recruit retired engineers to fill the shortage in Panchayat, Rural Development Department on contractual basis is gross injustice towards the unemployed engineers,” he added and demanded revision in the Government decision in this regard besides creating employment avenues for educated unemployed engineers with immediate effect.
Kalsotra also criticized the Government of withdrawing quota to Self Help Groups of unemployed engineers, who were working as contractors and had taken bank loans to run the SHGs.
