Kalidas Theatre holds 2-day literary event

Srinagar, Mar 19: Kalidas Theater, Srinagar in collaboration with the Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages today held an event to pay respect to prominent poet Rehman Rahi here at Tagore Hall.
On the occasion, four novels: Daie Chune Maran, Shah Paez, Pasekhdar, Loudspeaker by Dr Sohan Lal Kaul, and one English-translated novel Psychiatric Ward by Mushtaque Barq were also released.
Kalidas Theater said that Dr Sohan Lal Kaul has made history by publishing his tenth novel in Kashmiri while noting that his writing style and aesthetic are distinctive which has helped in elevating the novel genre in Kashmir
Prof Mohammad Zaman Azurda described Dr Kaul as an ace fiction writer. The event’s primary guest was Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, Administrative Secretary Culture, Jammu and Kashmir UT, who promised in his speech to boost the morale of artists, particularly those engaged with theatre by attending to their issues.
A tribute film produced by Dr Ayash Arif, featuring a few Rehman Rahi moments, was screened as well. Dr Arif also highlighted various issues faced by drama and the people associated with it.
Chairman Kalidas Theater Shabbir Mujahid thanked the guests who participated in the two-day event and the administrators of IPTS Heights School Khan Sahib.
