JAMMU, Nov 1: Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) today held a protest at New Plot over scarcity of drinking water.
While addressing the protesting people, JWAM president, Sunil Dimple, alleged that the people of Jammu city, particularly of West Constituency are facing acute scarcity of drinking water, as River Tawi has failed to meet the requirement of drinking water of the people.
Dimple alleged that the ERA department’s substandard work has multiplied the problems of the people, as huge leakages due to old water connections damaged by ERA have created huge scarcity of drinking water.
He said the water is being supplied in the locality after a gap of three to four days but pressure of water is so low that one cannot fill even the buckets what to say of filling water tanks.
Dimple demanded the PHE Minister to immediately start the work on the Chenab water supply project and provide free of cost drinking water to the people of the State.
