JAMMU, Feb 29: Activists of Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) here today staged a protest demonstration and condemned the alleged harassment of the people in the hands of traffic police.
The protest was led by JWAM president, Sunil Dimple who alleged that a traffic cop has slapped a lady while she was going with her husband.
He has also sent a resolution of demands to the LG and DG of Police to stop harassment at police nakas.
JWAM leader also said that in the guise of fines traffic cops harass the general public.
He said that many BJP and Congress ruled States have refused the exorbitant fines under new MV Act.
Dimple also demanded construction of Rehari Chungi flyover and expressed strong resentment that the Government has no traffic mobile plan for Jammu city.
Jagdish Gupta, Ramesh Mahajan, Sonu Agarwal and others were also present in the press conference.
