JAMMU, Mar 15: Activists of Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) here today staged a protest demonstration against the poor services of BSNL and insanitary conditions in the city.
The protest was led by JWAM leader, Sunil Dimple who claimed that Central Government led by BJP has made BSNL Department defunct to give benefit to private telecom companies.
He also claimed that more than 5000 landline and internet connections of BSNL as are non-functional at New Plot-Janipur High Court road as all cables there have been damaged.
The JWAM leader said that this has badly affected the students, business community, patients and others at Amphalla, New Plot, Puran Nagar, Jawahar Nagar, Prem Nagar and Tali Morh areas.
Dimple said that there is shortage of funds with BSNL which will take one month to restore the damaged internet and landline connections.
He further said that labourers of BSNL are without salaries for the last some months.
Meanwhile, JWAM leader flayed the working of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) and said that in localities of Jammu West there are big heaps of garbage, deteriorated roads, choked and overflowing sewerage.
Brij Mohan, D.K Didwal, Ramesh Kumar, Bunty Dogra, Mohinder Lichi, S. Balbinder Singh, Joginder, Verinder, Daleep, Swarn Lal Verma, Arun Verma, Sanjay, Bawa and others were also present in the protest.
