JWAM demands statehood for J&K

JAMMU, Aug 10: Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) has demanded that PM Modi should announce statehood with special status to J&K on August 15 during his Independent Day speech.
After starting hunger strike in support of his demand of restoration of statehood to J&K, JWAM leader, Sunil Dimple said that the Government should withdraw Domicile Certificate.
He urged upon the LG Manoj Sinha that Government jobs in J&K should only be given to the State Subject holders.
The JWAM leader claimed that Domicile Certificate makes even outsiders eligible for Government jobs and admissions in professional colleges of J&K.
He also demanded abolishing of Lakhanpur and all other toll plazas in Jammu.
Before starting the hunger strike Dimple paid tributes to Maharaja Hari Singh, Pt Prem Nath Dogra, Brigadier Rajinder Singh and Subash Chander Bose.
Others present on the occasion were Harbans Tondon, Sita Ram Rakwal, Chaman Pawar and Narinder Singh.
