JWAM demands early Assembly elections, restoration of Statehood

JAMMU, Oct 8: Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) has demanded early Assembly elections in J&K.
In a press conference here today JWAM leader Sunil Dimple has appealed to Dr Farooq Abdullah, Rahul Gandhi, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti to join hands to get the statehood status restored to J&K.
He hailed the statement of Union Home Minister, Amit Shah that statehood will be restored to J&K once the security situation improves.
Dimple said that keeping in view Governor’s fresh advisory to lift earlier advisory for tourists from October 10, the Home Minister should immediately restore statehood status to J&K before the October 31as the advisory indicates improved security situation.
He also demanded that the special status for J&K with one Tricolour Flag under Indian constitution should be maintained.
Dimple further said that if fresh tourist advisory can be issued, the internet service should also be restored in J&K.
