JAMMU, July 24: The activists of  Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) today held protest demonstration against PDD and PHE  authorities and blocked New Plot- Janipur Road for some time.
The JWAM workers led by its president Sunil Dimple assembled on the road at Rodian- Di- Chhapri and started protest demonstration. They alleged that there is massive power curtailment, especially during the night hours and the concerned  PDD staff did not pick up the phone at the time of crisis. Even the Phones of Linemen to JE and AE, AEE,  Executive Engineer etc remain non-responsive.
They also shouted  slogans again DyCM Dr Nirmal Singh, holding the portfolio of  PDD and  the Chief Engineer PDD,M&RE Jammu. They demanded 50 MWT receiving power station at Janipur.
The JWAM activists  were also carrying empty buckets in their hands during the protest. They shouted loud slogans against BJP Ministers from Jammu and  Minister for PHE Sham Choudhary.  They alleged that for the last several weeks, the water supply in most parts of Jammu West has been badly affected.  There is no alternative tanker supply by the PHE City Division and the officers at the helm affairs are unable to tackle the problems. Worst affected  is the Jammu City West and the rural belt.
Sunil  Dimple alleged that PHE and ERA authorities are deliberately harassing the people and damaging old pipes, so that people  are forced to  shift to the new ERA pipes by paying  Rs 3500 as additional amount. He said that Govt is getting water tariff from the public and they should shifted these connections free of cost. He appealed to the people to launch a collective movement and agitation as the  Govt was harassing deliberately. He alleged that the Govt  has failed to provide free drinking water to the public. Sugar of 45 lakh consumers has also been stopped.  Power supply is also inadequate while fatty bills are being sent to the consumers.
