Srinagar, July 24: Police today said that it arrested seven gamblers and recovered stake money from three gambling places in summer capital here.
A police spokesman said that police raided a gambling place and arrested three people while gambling. “They were identified as Muzafar Ahmad, Mohammad Iqbal khan, Ashiq Hussain. The stake money of Rupees 3100 was recovered from the gambling site,” he said.
The spokesman said that police raided a gambling place in Parimpora area and arrested two gamblers. “They were identified as Fazil Ahmad Khan and Gowhar Ahmad Bhat. The stake money of Rupees 1200 was recovered from the gambling site,” he added.
The spokesman said that in another raid, police apprehended two gamblers near Pinchimandi in Safa Kadal area in an open public place. “The stake money of Rupees 14000 was recovered from the gambling place. Three separate cases have been registered against these gamblers and further investigation is on,” he added.
