Juvenile arrested for theft in shop, stolen items recovered

UDHAMPUR, July 19: With the arrest of a juvenile accused and recovery of stolen items, Police has solved a theft case within 24 hours since commissioning of the crime.
The theft had taken place in the mobile phone shop of Varun Gupta, son of Subash Chander of Basantgarh and Rs 3000 cash along with some mobile phone sets and accessories were stolen.
On a complaint in this connection, case FIR number 24/2021, U/S 457/380 IPC was registered in Police Station Basantgarh. A police team of Police Station Basantgarh, led by SHO Inspector Pushpinder Singh, under the supervision of Dr Bhishm Dubey, SDPO Ramnagar started investigation in this regard and rounded up several suspects.
Based on leads developed, one juvenile was identified, tracked and apprehended by police team. During questioning, he confessed his involvement in the said theft case.
Based on his disclosure, stolen items, including two mobile phone sets worth Rs 18500, cash amount of Rs 800, one charger and one earphone were recovered.
