Jugal Kishore adopts village in Sunderbani

RAJOURI, Jan, 4: Senior BJP leader and MP Jugal Kishore Sharma today convened a meeting of all the district officers and  prominent citizens of village Patrara to formulate action plan for development under Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojna. Pertinent to mention here that Sharma  has selected Patrara village in Rajouri district for development under the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojna.
While addressing the gathering he said that vision of  Prime Minister, Narendra Modi is “If we have to build the nation we have to start from the villages” and he believes that “if every MP transforms villages in his/her Constituency into model villages, large number of villages in the country would have seen holistic development”. ” Prime Minister has requested all Members of Parliament  to develop one model village in their Constituency by year 2016 and two more by 2019″, he said.
MLA  Nowshera Ravinder Raina Deputy Commissioner Shabir Ahmed Batt Assistant Commissioner Developmental Noor Alam, District Social Welfare Officer, Dr.Abdul Khabir beside all other district officers and prominent citizens were present there.
Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY) was launched on  October, 11, 2014 with the aim to translate the comprehensive vision of Mahatma Gandhi about an ideal Indian village into a reality, keeping in view the present context. Under SAGY, each Member of Parliament adopts a Gram Panchayat and guides its holistic progress giving importance for social development at par with infrastructure. The ‘Adarsh Grams’ are to become schools of local development and governance, inspiring other Gram Panchayats. It is a rural development programme focusing on development of villages which include social and cultural development, and spread motivation among the people on social mobilisation of the village community.
Sharma asked the concerned officers to work collectively to ensure effective implementation of this programme and generate massive awareness among the people so that they can avail benefits of centre sponsored schemes and other flagship programmes.” The government has taken important initiatives, aimed at financial inclusion, creation of model villages, clean India and building of digital infrastructure,”he said.
MLA Nowshera also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the objective of SAGY to strengthen the gram panchayats and modernization of social resources. He sought people’s participation for identifying developmental  needs and set priorities in integrated manner.”We are happy that Member parliament has picked our village Patrara for this social and noble cause. We are sure this will inspire other villages in the region to emulate this model of development,”  he said.
