JAMMU, Dec 28: Member of Parliament from Jammu-Poonch Constituency & BJP former State President Jugal Kishore Sharma, alongwith party MLAs- Rajeev Sharma and Dr. Krishan Lal Bhagat, Chief Engineer B.K. Bhattacharya and Commandant 13 BRTF Vimal Goswami, inaugurated a road from Akhnoor to Jourian under Stage -3 in a function held at Akhnoor on Monday.
This 18 kilometers road, which has been constructed at the cost of rupees 10 crores and 45 lakh, was dedicated to the public in presence of a large number of people drawn from Akhnoor, Jourian and adjoining areas.
Jugal Kishore Sharma, on this occasion, said that with the commissioning of this road, a large population between Akhnoor and Jourian will be able to utilize the best mean to travel. “Being MP from this constituency and our both the MLAs had been making repeated efforts to get this prestigious road completed in the shortest period and it is indeed a matter of great satisfaction that today it has been thrown open for public use”, Jugal Kishore Sharma said and added that Jourian to Pallanwala road project will be taken up with the concerned quarters and it will be seen that more and more border areas are connected by road.
Besides senior officials of the civil administration, BJP leaders Manmohan Singh, Jagdish Bhagat, Suresh Sharma, Bharat Bhushan Gupta, Ashok Mishra were prominent among those present on the inaugural ceremony.
