REASI, July 26: Former minister and senior Congress leader, Jugal Kishore Sharma today termed recent recruitment notification of Class- IV employees as a cruel joke and betrayal with educated unemployed youth of Jammu and Kashmir.
While opposing the new recruitment rules, Jugal Kishore Sharma said the Union Territory administration has notified special recruitment rules for filling up of vacant Class-IV posts in all the departments and brought an end to the division and district specific recruitments which he said was gross injustice. He said earlier only the local youth were eligible for the district cadre posts in their respective districts except the candidates of Scheduled Castes categories.
“Now, all domicile holders, including from the rest of country who qualify as per new domicile law would apply and compete with the local youth,” said Jugal Kishore and also showed a strong resentment over the exclusion of aspirants having qualification above 10+2 from participating in 8575 Class-lV recruitments .
“Highly qualified youth have been the worst sufferers of ill conceived policies of UT administration,” said Jugal Kishore, adding that it was ironical that candidates with more than 10+2 qualification were debarred from applying for the said posts.
“The Government has failed to advertize any jobs for highly qualified despite thousands of vacancies in colleges, schools, hospitals, other health institutions and professional institutions lying vacant under the pretext of resource crunch,” he said.
The Congress leader urged UT Administration to notify new recruitment rules for Class IV posts and Junior Assistant posts, which, he said should be reserved for District Cadres only and also candidates having qualification more than 10+2 should be eligible for Class IV posts.
