Jugal appeals people to attend Modi’s rally at Madhopur

JAMMU, June 19: BJP State president Jugal Kishore Sharma has made an appeal to the party activists and people of the State to attend the party rally at Madhopur Punjab held on June 23 to be addressed by the newly elected Chairman of the party’s Election Campaign Committee (ECC) and Chief Minister Gujarat, Narinder Modi.
Talking to reporters here today along with BJP National Executive member and chief spokesperson of the State Dr Jitendra Singh and party general secretary Rajiv Jasrotia he said after becoming the chief of party’s ECC Mr Modi has decided to visit Madhopur in Punjab first on June 23 where he will address the Party rally to be attended by people from Punjab, HP and J&K.
He said June 23 has a significance for the party as on this day in 1953 Dr Shyama Prasad Mookerjee who after breaking permit system entered the State from Madhopur died in mysterious circumstances in Srinagar jail. Dr Mookerjee who was the founder president of Bharatiya Jana Sangh gave the slogan of Ek Vidhan, Ek Pradhan and Ek Nishan and opposed the permit system for entering in the State.
He declared that J&K was integral part of India and revolted against those who wanted to create a wedge between people of J&K and rest of the country.
Mr Jugal, while justifying the appointment of Mr Modi as Chief of ECC of BJP said that those who call him communal are in the state of desperation after seeing the increasing popularity of Gujarat Chief Minister.
He said the allegations leveled by Congress against Mr Modi have been rejected by the people and even Muslims widely support him now.
He said BJP Prabhari J&K Avinash Roy Khanna is visiting Jammu tomorrow to hold party meetings at Kathua, Basholi  and Samba to ensure the massive participation of the people from the state in Mr Modi’s rally at Madhopur.
