JU web lecture series on career planning inaugurated by VC

JAMMU, June 17: University of Jammu (JU) in its strive to achieve world class excellence, has started web lecture series on career planning which was inaugurated today by Prof Manoj Kumar Dhar, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu.
In his inaugural address, the VC said that it is the most important initiative of Placement Cell in the present times. He said this will provide a platform for nurturing professional corporate acumen among the young budding professionals which represented the students of Department of Computer Science, The Business School and the students of IT and MBA and other discipline from Kathua campus, Ramnagar campus and Bhaderwah campus.
He also urged the students to take benefits of the lecture series in their career preparedness planning to be globally competitive to grab the opportunities in the present competitive era.
The resource person for the first web talk Vikram Singh was a world renowned software architect having 20 years of diversified experience in some of the strong global IT brands like DewInfotech, Accenture, Synechron, etc. His expertise includes Corporate Enterprise Application development, Cloud migrations, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence etc.
Singh celebrated on the various technologies in which prominent companies of the software industries are hiring the talent. He emphasized on the need to acquire and sharpen their techno skill sets through various available certification programmes on cloud computing, IOT, Cybercrime, and robotics.
Earlier, Prof Vinay Chauhan, Dean, Student Placement and Convener, in his welcome address, apprised the audience about the activities and achievements of the Placement Cell in generating employability for the students of this region. “The outcome of these initiatives have leveraged into strong corroborate linkages with brands like ByJu, ITC, Airtel, ICICI, HDFC, Infosys, IBM, Jaro Education, SBI, RBI etc,” Chauhan added.
Dr Shubhnandan S Jamwal, secretary of the program moderated the event and presented vote of thanks.
Sourav Shastri, Rohit Bhagat, Dr Deepika from offsite campus, Dr Suresh Rao, Dr Shellika, Dr Madulika from the main campus also attended the lecture along with approximately 90 students.
