JAMMU, Nov 14: The meeting of College Development Council (CDC) was held in the Committee room of Vice Chancellor Secretariat under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, Professor Mohan Paul Singh Ishar.
While welcoming the members of the newly constituted CDC (2012-15), Prof Ishar emphasized for taking all required measures to upgrade the infrastructure and facilities in the affiliated colleges. He observed that colleges should ensure regular attendance and measures like biometrics may be used to ensure attendance in the colleges.
The matter of admission of left out candidates of BEd also came up for discussion and it was resolved that in the interest of students, whole of the admission process including Management Quota seats should be completed by November 30, 2012.
Prof Ishar also desired that surprise visits to the private colleges be made to check the attendance of candidates and proceedings maybe initiated against the colleges to check the absenteeism.
He further stressed upon the need for reorganization of fee structure and rationalization of seats for various courses in private affiliated colleges. The meeting also took serious note of the multiple institutions operating under a single trust and it was resolved that the matter be taken up with the Higher Education Department.
