JAMMU, Dec 13: The Jammu Tourist Trade People’s Federation (JTTPF) has criticized Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board authorities for ignoring first `darshan’ of Mata Kol Kandoli at Nagrota in its website and other literature provided to the pilgrim tourists and demanded that it should not be ignored.
While welcoming the train service to Katra, the Federation president Mahesh Padha told the reporters here that introducing train service to Katra was a welcome step but the trade and hotel industry of Jammu is mainly dependent on the pilgrim tourists. He said the Jammu should not be ignored and the beautification projects launched be completed in record time so as to attract the tourists/ pilgrims.
He pointed out that Mata Kol Kandoli and Deva Mai has been excluded in the website of the Shrine Board and moreover, there is no mention of these important places enroute Katra Mata Vaishno Devi in the literature being provided for publicity by the Board. He demanded that Board must realize its mistake and try to correct.
Mr Padha also demanded that Yatra slip counter should also be set up at Jammu so that operation of Yatris also remain connected with the Jammu city. It will give some lease of life to the Jammu trade. He also stressed the need to improve Bahu Fort temple, Mansar and Saruinsar resorts by improving road and providing other facilities to the visiting tourists. He demanded that Government must try to support the trade and hotel industry of Jammu as it is mainly dependent on the Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrims.
