JAMMU, Aug 24: A joint meeting of Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) was held here today under the presidentship of Shadi Lal Pandita in which grave concern was expressed over the failure of the State and Central governments in rehabilitation of the displaced Pandits back in Valley.
The meeting demanded that the displaced Pandits be rehabilitated in three different satellite townships in Kashmir which should be established at a one particular place. The meeting said the migrants of Baramulla, Kupwara and Bandipora districts be settled in one township while the migrants from districts of Srinagar Ganderbal and Budgam be settled in another township and the migrants from Anantnag , Pulwama , Kulgam and Shopian be settled in third township.
Besides, one Parliamentary seat be reserved for the community within Valley. The meeting said in case both State and Central governments fail to settle the KPs in Valley on these terms and conditions the JTC and Soan Kashmir Front will knock the doors of the Apex Court for justice.
It further demanded constriction of 600 quarters for migrant employees in Valley, compensation to tune of Rs one crore to each migrant family for 28 year long losses suffered by them, implementation of PM’s employment package, removal of encroachments and grant of minority status to Pandits.
