Art 35A must go: Randhir

JAMMU, Aug 24:  Former minister and state chief of NCP Thakur  Randhir Singh has said that former Chief Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah and some other main stream political parties like Congress, including Kashmir valley’s social media, separatists and Kashmir Centric successive Govts have taken for granted the people of Jammu province and Ladakh and Kargil since the matter of Article 35A is in the Supreme Court of the country and has assumed great significance.
In a press statement here veteran leader said that Article 35 A was added to strengthen Article 370 by Presidential order in 1954 by Dr Rajendra Prasad even Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru Prime minister of India has often said that Article 370 was itself a temporary provision and will erode with the passage of time. Mr Singh said, ” If we  get rid of Art 35A the people of Jammu and Ladakh will be more benefitted if the Supreme Court of India decide in the favour of removing Art 35A.”
The NCP leader further said that   this article was not in the interest of the people from Jammu and Ladakh region and it must go. He said that Kashmir based political parties and separatists can not impose their will and dictate to the people from Jammu and Ladakh regions. There will be no threat to the demography of the State if this article is revoked as projected by Dr Farooq Abdullah and some other Valley based leaders.
