JTC, SKF protest enters 380th day

JAMMU, Oct 17: The protest launched by Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) for enhancement of cash relief and settling of other demands of displaced people from Valley at Jagti township entered 380th day today.
Addressing the protesters today Shadi Lal Pandita, president JTC and SKF said that the Government should protect the minorities in Kashmir Valley because the situation has worsened there after removal of Article 370 and 35 A. Pandita said Government should not force package employees to perform duties in Kashmir in view of the present situation there. Forcing migrant employees to join duties in Valley will prove counter productive, he added.
The Government should consider the request of the package employees and give them leave till the situation improves, he said. He demanded 10 townships should be made for the package employees in 10,districts of Kashmir valley as soon as possible so that they can be kept in the safe zones. Migrant employees are ready to perform their duties in Kashmir but the Government first have to normalize the situation there.
He also reiterated his demand for construction of satellite townships in North , South and Central Kashmir .He said that we have been protesting for 380 days but the government is still not meeting our demands which is a cause of concern.
