JAMMU, Jan 13: A protest demonstration was held at Jagti township by the Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) activists under the leadership of Shadi Lal Pandita, the president of these organisations on the 104th day of their agitation in support of demands of displaced Pandits.
Addressing the protesters Shadi Lal Pandita said today is the 104th day of the protest and till date the Government has not met the demands which are totally genuine in nature.
Pandita said,” Our protest sit-in will continue until the demands are met and we will not budge an inch from our stand.” He said that the BJP Government is persecuting Kashmiri Pandits while the KPs have been living in exile for the last 31 years, but the Government has not solved the problems till date.
He while highlighting the demands stressed on enhancement of cash relief, announcement of job package of 20,000 jobs with 5000 class fourth posts, free ration to pensioners, construction of three satellite townships for displaced Pandits in Valley for their permanent and honourable rehabilitation and compensation to over-aged youth besides restoration of encroached properties and release of balanced ex-gratia.
Raj Kumar Tickoo unit president of JTC and convenor of SKF, Kashi Nath Bhat vice president JTC and SKF, Ravinder Koul, M L Razdan, Vijay Bakshi, Kamal Ji Pandita,Vinod Moza, Rakesh Ambardar, Shuban Raina, Mithan Pandita, Shadi Lal Koul, Rakesh Tickoo, Raj K Tickoo .S Charanjeet Singh, J L Koul, S L Kar, Hari Krishan Pandita,Venoo Ji Wakhloo, Satish Pandita, Sanjay Sharma, C L Koul, Vijay Suri, Bihari Lal Razdan, Kuldeep Raina, R K Tickoo, Gowri Shanker, Ramesh Suri, Gurmeet Singh, Gh Mohmad Khan, Ab Rahman, Sanjay Raina, Kuldeep Raina, Javaid Ahmad and others addressed the rally and demanded immediate settling of demands.
