JAMMU, Sept 7: Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) in a joint meeting at Jagti township held under the chairmanship of Shadi Lal Pandita the president of two organizations discussed the problems of the displaced Pandits living in camps and non camp areas.
Addressing the meeting, Pandita demanded dissolution of State Assembly which has been kept under suspended animation and holding of fresh elections in the State.
He also demanded including of migrants in voter lists to ensure that that they may exercise their right to franchise.
He reiterated his demand regarding construction of satellite townships in Kashmir for the rehabilitation of exiled Pandits there and appealed the Governor that immediate steps be taken in this regard. He also demanded release of balance ex-gratia for the migrants properties and houses which were set ablaze during turmoil. Further he demanded that the quarters which were locked by some people in the camps who have constructed their houses be allotted to the genuine poor families living in rented accommodation in non camp areas.
