JTC, SKF highlight migrants problems

JAMMU, Dec 30: A joint meeting of Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) was held here, today under the chairmanship of Shadi Lal Pandita, president, JTC and SKF.
Pandita, while addressing the meeting said that for past few months Sugar supply has been stopped to the relief holders which has added to their sufferings.
He appealed to the Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu to personally look into the matter as to why sugar supplies have been stopped to relief holders and ensure early release of the same with arrears.
Pandita said that though the Government of India had time and again assured for safe return and permanent rehabilitation of the Kashmiri Pandit migrants in Kashmir Valley, nothing in this direction has been done till date.
Pandita said that Kashmiri migrants are unable to return to their native localities as their properties have been encroached upon or damaged and their residential houses have been set ablaze. He demanded raising of three Satellite townships for Kashmiri Pandit migrants for their safe return and their permanent rehabilitation in Kashmir Valley.
Besides, he demanded compensation for damaged properties to migrants, release of pending exgratia, starting of on spot recruitment drive in Police Department, recruitment of those KP youth who could not go for higher education due to poverty on class fourth posts, implementation of PM employment package in letter and spirit and enhancement of cash relief.
