JTC, SKF dharna enters 492nd day

JAMMU, Feb 14: The dharna launched by Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front in support of their demands at Jagti township near here, entered 492nd day today.
The protest was led by Shadi Lal Pandita, president JTC and SKF. Addressing the protestors Pandita said that they have been protesting over one year while the Government is ignoring their demands totally. Pandita said they are demanding increase in the monthly cash relief of relief holders from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000, a package of 20,000 jobs for unemployed youth of KPs, compensation for over-aged youth and removal of illegal occupations of land and religious places of KPs in Kashmir Valley besides establishing of three townships near Baramulla, Srinagar and Anantnag for resettlement of displaced Kashmiri Pandits in Kashmir Valley, release of balance amount of ex-gratia of gutted houses, damaged houses and 32 years losses of land and other properties should be paid to exiled community.
He said Kashmiri Pandits should be given political and minority status also. Others who participated in the protest sit-in were Shuban Ji Raina ,Raj Kumar Bhat ,Vinod Bhat ,Rakesh Tickoo, Mohan Krishan Tickoo ,Ram Krishan ,Vijay Bakshi, Satish Pandita ,Ramesh Suri , Gurmeet Singh G M Khan ,Ab Rahman Dar etc.
