JAMMU, June 29: The Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) held a protest sit-in today at Jagti township Nagrota near, here today.
Addressing the protestors Shadi Lal Pandita president JTC, SKF said that migrants have been protesting for nine months now since October 2, 2020 but till date the demands have not been settled.
Pandita said the protest sit-in will continue till the demands are met. He said the Kashmiri Pandits have been homeless for 31 years due to militancy. He reiterated increasing the monthly cash relief of relief holders from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000 per family per month, one job to each displaced family, announcement of a package of 20,000 jobs, out of which 5,000 class 4th posts should be given to unemployed youth who could not continue their higher education due to poverty, compensation for loss of property for 31years, recruitment of on spot recruitment of Kashmiri migrant youth in the police force in Jagti camp, other migrant camps and non camp areas, grant of minority status to Kashmiri Pandits and their settlement in three townships in Kashmiri Valley.
