JAMMU, June 29: The aggrieved inhabitants of village Rehal, block Bishnah of Jammu district are facing serious problems due to what they called the irresponsible behaviour of the PDD.
In a statement the residents of the area issued through Ramesh Khajuria a socio-political activist the PDD issued 15 electric poles for supplying power for irrigation purposes on April 10 this year and poles were erected in the fields but even after 79 days electric wires were not installed and power was not restored so far.
The farmers of the area are not able to use their bore wells for irrigation to their fields for transplanting paddy seedlings.
The residents have made an appeal Commissioner Secretary, PDD J&K UT seeking his immediate intervention in the matter and urged him to issue instructions to the concerned officers for restoration of power supply so that farmers of the area can plant paddy seedlings in time.
The people also warned to launch agitation in case the demand was not settled immediately as delay in laying the cable will lead to heavy loss to farmers in the area.
