JAMMU, Feb 14: Continuing its protest dharna on 136th day today at Jagti township, the Jagti Tenement committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) today urged the Government to settle their long pending and genuine demands without further delay.
Addressing the protesters, Shadi Lal Pandita, president, JTC and SKF criticised the Union Home Minister, Amit Shash’s statement in which he said that the Government is giving ration and relief to 44,000 Kashmiri migrant families, which is not correct. Pandita said the Government is giving ration relief to only near about 19,000 migrant families in which about more then 5000 ration card cards are fraud, which is harmful for the genuine cause of migrants.
Pandita said,” But the Home Minister forgot that his Government has increased the price of essential commodities so many times since it came to power due to which a family is not capable of making its both ends meet on Rs 13,000 per month relief.
He also termed the statement of Shah that six thousand families will be resettled in Kashmir valley by 2022 as false and demanded the Government should frame a blue print on return and rehabilitation of Pandits to Valley. He demanded settlement of long pending demands of the community including increase in cash relief.
