JAMMU, Oct 9: A Joint meeting of Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) was held here, today under the chairmanship of Shadi Lal Pandita.
Addressing the meeting Pandita said that the Government has not taken steps for ensuring return of the Kashmiri Pandit migrant community for their permanent rehabilitation in the Kashmir Valley despite lapse of over 28 years.
He said that though the Prime Minister’s employment package for Kashmiri Pandit migrant youth has been partly implemented by filling of some posts but still more than 3000 posts are yet to be filled up and the Government has not taken up effective measures to fill up the remaining posts under the package.
Pandita demanded that early steps are required by the Government for ensuring implementation of Prime Minister’s employment package in letter and spirit by filling up of remaining posts at an earliest and ensuring job opportunities to the educated migrant youth.
He alleged that the Government was deliberately ignoring the Kashmiri Pandit community by depriving them of their basic rights and deferring issuance of RBA certificates to those migrant youth who belong to reserved backward areas of Kashmir Province.
He demanded that the Government should ensure immediate issuance of RBA Certificates to the Kashmiri Pandit migrant youth who belong to reserved backward areas of Kashmir Province failing which the community will be forced to come on roads.
