Hunger strike by Contractual Lecturers enters 238th day

JAMMU, Oct 9:  The ongoing hunger strike by the agitating 10+2 Contractual Lecturers entered into 238th day today as there has been response from the Government over the demand for their regularization.
While talking to media persons at the venue of hunger strike near Exhibition Ground, Arun Bakshi, president of the Contractual Lecturers Association, accused the State Government of being insensitive towards them. “Neither the previous Government did justice with us nor this present regime is listening to our grievance,” he rued and alleged that despite explaining their case repeatedly before the concerned authorities, only lip service was provided to them.
He appealed the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to personally intervene into the matter and provide justice to them.
The agitating Contractual Lecturers are demanding their regularization as per Civil Services Special Provision Act 2010, a Legislature passed by the Government for the regularization of all the Ad-hoc/Contractual /Consolidated /Temporary employees.
Meanwhile, Contractual Lecturers Pankaj Sharma, Anil Sharma, Reva Rani and Sanita Koul began their fast today to continue the chain of hunger strike.
