JTC demands hike in cash relief for migrants

JAMMU, Oct 12: Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) demanded a hike in cash relief for Kashmiri Pandits migrants from Rs 13000 to 25000 per family, here today.
It was demanded during the meeting by President of JTC/ Soan Kashmir Front, Shadi Lal Pandita and also demanded a new package of 20000 jobs for Kashmiri Pandit migrants.
Pandita said that due to high inflation, the relief holders are being forced to live a very difficult life as the migrants are unable to provide quality education to their children.
The members of the Front also demanded compensation for property loss for the last 32 years, pending ex-gratia relief of gutted houses, compensation for over aged youth and removal of illegal occupation of lands, properties and religious places of the migrants in Kashmir valley. “Three townships should be set up in Anantnag, Srinagar and Baramulla to resettle Kashmiri Pandits in the valley and political reservation in Assembly and Parliament seats,” they asserted.
