JAMMU, June 7: The Joint Action Committee, comprising of SKUAST-Teaching Association Jammu (SKUAST-TAJ) and Non Teaching Employees Association (NTEA-J), today called on Incharge Vice-Chancellor SKUAST-Jammu, Dr Surinder Kumar Gupta and submitted him a memorandum of demands.
The Joint Action Committee, led by Dr Vikas Sharma, put forth the major demand of teaching fraternity regarding the speedy disposal of all the pending cases of teachers / Scientists of SKUAST- Jammu, who are due for promotion under Career Advancement Scheme (CAS).
Dr Vikas informed the VC that CAS / promotions of teachers, are lying pending in the Institution from the last two years and the timely promotions will help in preventing any financial burden on the Government on account of arrears besides encouraging the staff to do better in future for overall development of the farm university.
S K D Singh, President of NTEJAC-J, demanded implementation of SRO-311 for the leftover Class IV employees, departmental promotions of non teaching staff and career progression scheme for the library staff of the university.
After giving patient hearing to the delegation, VC SKUAST-J Dr SK Gupta, who is son of the soil and assumed the charge as Incharge VC only today, assured the JAC that he will try his level best to solve the genuine issues and demands of the employees.
The delegation comprised of Dr Pradeep Kumar Rai-Joint Secretary TAJ; Dr Devinder Sharma-Publicity Secretary TAJ; Dr Rajeev Bharat, Treasurer TAJ and Dr Anil Bhat, Executive TAJ; Dr Jasbir Singh, Dr Sanjay Koushal, Dr Mandeep Singh, Dr Sudhir Singh Sambyal, Dheeraj Rajwal, Varun Dubey and Kewal Swaroop.
