JSS Academy Mysuru makes into top 100 universities of world

Son of soil is Vice Chancellor

JAMMU, Sept 16: Under the patronage of its Vice Chancellor Dr Surinder Singh, JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research, Mysuru (Karnataka) has achieved the feat of getting place in top 100 universities in clinical and health studies of the Times Higher Education World (THE) University Rankings.
JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research (AHER), Mysuru is the only university in India ranked into the top 100. THE’s rankings of 1,523 universities in 98 countries as per the quality of education provided in clinical and health, life sciences, physical sciences and psychology were released today.
The JSS AHER bagged 93rd position in this ranking globally in the clinical and health discipline and 1st in India. Additionally, in the Times Higher Education (THE) World rankings 2022, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research is ranked in the band of 351-400 in the world. Now, JSS AHER is amongst the top 8 of the world and number 1 in India for the citations generated from its publications.
There are only three Institutions from India that are in top 500 and JSS AHER is one of them and no other deemed university or private or government university, other than the National Institutes are in the top 500. Nationally, JSS AHER also ranks among top 50 universities/Higher Education Institutions in India for the last six consecutive years by NIRF – National Institutional Ranking Framework by MHRD, Government of India and it is ranked 34th for the year 2021.
VC of the University Dr Surinder Singh, who is also the former Drug Controller General of India and the son of soil from village Vijaypur, Reasi, Jammu, has recently been honoured as one of the “Top 20 Eminent Vice Chancellors of India” for the year 2020 by uLektz Wall of Fame which acknowledges the contributions made by the eminent Vice Chancellors in India towards the development of academic programmes of the university and towards the general administration of the university to ensure efficiency and good order of the university.
Dr Singh, who is an alumnus of Government Medical College Jammu from where he did his MBBS in the year 1985. Speaking on the achievement of the Varsity, Dr Singh said that the credit for this goes to academic excellence, experienced faculty, national and international student diversity, research excellence and infrastructure that meets the needs of the academics, research, extension and student support.
