JMC team takes stock of Channi Himmat problems

JAMMU, Sept 21: A Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) team led by its Commissioner, Arvind Kotwal today visited Channi Himmat Housing Colony.
President of Channi Himmat Residents Association, V.K Grover met the visiting JMC team and highlighted the problem of inadequate, irregular and insufficient Safai Karamcharis in the area.
He said that preferential treatment meted out to some VIPs living in the area results into dumping of garbage for long time at many spots in the colony.
The JMC Commissioner issued on spot instructions for redressal of sanitation related grievance and promised to provide dustbins for collection of garbage.
He issued instructions to remove the collected garbage same day and ensure cleanliness by asking Safai Karmacharis to perform their duties sincerely and dedicatedly.
The issue of not repairing the faulty lights and not providing adequate street lights by electric wing of JMC was also raised and the Commissioner assured that the street lights would be issued soon.
Problem of stray dogs and cattle in the colony was also discussed to which the Commissioner directed his veterinary doctor to take appropriate steps.
