JAMMU, Oct 7: With a view to celebrate the Accession Day on October 26, Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta along with Commissioner JMC Rahul Yadav and others, conducted an extensive tour at Rajinder Singh Park/Rotary behind Civil Secretariat Jammu and took stock of the immediate works required at this site.
Mayor issued on spot directions to the concerned Engineering wing as well as sanitation staff that the whole area needs to be got cleaned by way of bush cutting, minor repair of plaster, white washing on the bottom of the trees and the venue should be made neat and clean. It was also decided that the surrounding of the rotary to be painted and the surrounding grill to be painted in bright color by PWD.
In the long term, JMC team decided that a separate meeting will be called with stake-holders and the permanent features i.e. façade lighting of the statue highlighting the statue area by erecting the fountain surrounding the statue and over all face-lifting of the area shall done in phased manner.
The Mayor was accompanied by Dr Akshay Sharma, Councillor Ward Number 8; Dinesh Gupta, Councillor Ward Number 18; Hitesh Gupta, Joint Commissioner (E&R)/ Addl CEO Smart City Jammu; Er Rajesh Kumar, Joint Commissioner (Works) JMC; Parvinder Kour, Secretary JMC; Arun Gupta, Executive Engineer Works Div-I; Gen (Retd) R K Sharma
Besides this, Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta also inaugurated a Coffee Shop under the name & style M/s Brothers Café at Shakti Nagar area of Ward Number 29 under start up scheme.
Surinder Chowdhary, Councillor of Ward Number 29; Neena Gupta, Councillor of Ward Number 50; Kamla Gupta, Harish Kumar, Atul Bakshi, Karan Sharma and other prominent inhabitants of Shakti Nagar area as well as Suresh Gupta & Ashwani Gupta, Proprietors of M/s Brothers Café were present there during the inauguration function.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor said that more and more youths are coming forward to start up their own business for making “Atam Nirbar Bharat” and this way they are also providing jobs to other unemployed persons instead of running towards Govt jobs which is a welcome step and should be appreciated and encouraged by the society.
