JMC, Health Department constitute 40 teams for spraying: Billawaria

JAMMU, Oct 27: In the midst of rising dengue cases, the Malaria Wing of the Health Department in collaboration with the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) has fully geared up to deal with the situation and has constituted 40 teams which has done fogging and spraying in the city.
JMC is providing the addresses of dengue patients to the Health Department so that steps can be taken for its prevention in the concerned area without delay.
This was stated by the newly elected Deputy Mayor Baldev Singh Billawaria while addressing the journalists in his office at Town Hall on Thursday. Billawaria held a meeting with Health and Sanitation Committee Chairman Raj Kumar Trakhan besides Health Officer and other officials of Health Wing to take stock of the cleanliness system in the city.
The Deputy Mayor said that the Jammu Municipal Corporation is active to give better cleanliness to the residents of the Jammu city. Expressing concern over the increasing dengue cases in the city, he inquired from the officials about the ongoing process in this regard in the city. The JMC officials stated that the Malaria Wing of the Health Department is working to deal with dengue. The teams of the Municipal Corporation gave them detailed information about the patients and areas affected by dengue so that spray and fogging can be done.
Billawaria said that 40 teams of Malaria Wing are engaged for prevention of dengue across the city. Wherever a dengue patient is found, the team reaches there and gets anti-larva spray done. Billawaria appreciated the special contribution of the Health Wing in making Jammu city clean. He said that the way the whole city was full of dirt on the eve of Diwali the Health Wing did a great job and the Wing has made a special cleanness drive in clean Jammu city.
He said that the JMC is constantly making efforts to eradicate dengue, but very few people are aware that the Corporation and Health Department is in touch with it because the Malaria Wing is the Health Department’s wing. He also asked the people of the Jammu city to keep their surroundings clean and give user chargers on time.
